How do tasks bring the world of work into classrooms?

Teachers can use tasks in a variety of ways to bring the world of work into the classroom. For example, they can use a work-based context for a science or mathematics task, which is often seen as motivating for students but does need to be authentic. However, it has the added benefit of raising students’ awareness of how important science and mathematics are in the world of work.

For this professional question there are three tools. The first two relate to five of the tasks in the Mascil repository, and the third provides guidance on the design of tasks.
